Pull Any Song Apart
and Play Along

A stem player in your browser. Six stems, not four: guitar and piano get their own channels too. Mute the part you play, solo the part you’re learning, slow it down without changing the pitch. Two songs a day, free, no account.

Everything you need to learn a part

Built by musicians, for musicians

Six Separate Stems

Vocals, drums, bass, guitar, piano and everything else. Most tools stop at four and leave your guitar buried in the backing.

Mute and Solo

Drop the guitar out and play it yourself. Solo the bass to work out the line. One key each, and a low and high shelf when a stem needs shaping.

Slow It Down

Down to half speed. Time-stretched properly, so the pitch stays exactly where it was.

Loop a Section

Drag across the waveform to loop the two bars you keep missing. Stay there until they’re yours.

Stage-Ready in CountIn

When the mix is right, send it to CountIn, our sibling tool. It comes back as a file with a synced count-in baked in, ready for the gig.

Export Your Mix

Bounce the mix you are hearing to a 24-bit WAV at your song’s own sample rate. No re-compression, no watermark, no click on top.

How it works

Four steps, no manual

Step 1

Drop in a track

Drag in an MP3 or a WAV. Whatever you bounced, bought or recorded.

Step 2

Let it split

The separation runs in the cloud. A few minutes for a full song, and the tempo is detected while you wait.

Step 3

Build your mix

Mute, solo, low and high shelf, pan. Slow it down, mark a loop.

Step 4

Play along

Practise in the browser, or export the mix and take it to rehearsal.

Frequently asked questions

What is a stem player?

Software that plays a song as its separate parts, so you can mute, solo and balance each one and practise with the rest of the band. This is the browser version: six stems, a mixer, tempo without pitch change, loops and a WAV export. What a stem player is, in full.

What can I upload?

MP3, WAV, FLAC or M4A, up to 10 minutes and 50 MB. A studio-quality source gives cleaner stems than a low-bitrate MP3.

Is there really no catch?

Separation runs on rented GPUs and costs real money per song, so each person gets 2 separations a day and the whole site has a daily cap on top. If you hit either, come back tomorrow. Everything else is genuinely free and there’s no account.

How long does separation take?

A few minutes for a typical song. You’ll see the queue position and progress while it runs.

Do I need an account?

No. There’s no sign-up and no login. Open the app and drop in a track.

What happens to my files?

Your track is uploaded only to be separated. The stems are cached in your own browser, so reopening a song is instant and offline.

Why can I still hear a muted part?

Because separation is never perfect. Instruments overlap in the frequency spectrum, so a little bleed always remains. That is true of every tool on the market, not just this one. It gets quieter, not silent.

What quality is the export?

A 24-bit WAV at the sample rate of your own file. Nothing is re-compressed on the way out and there is no watermark, so the mix you take to rehearsal is as clean as the stems.

Is this a free stem splitter?

Yes. Drop in a song and get six stems, free, with no account: two songs a day, 24-bit WAV export, no watermark. The free stem splitter, in full.

Stems, tracks or parts?

Different words for the same thing: the individual instrument layers a song is built from. Split them out and you can practise against the rest of the band.

Ready to hear the parts?

Drop in a song and have your stems in a few minutes.
